“A lovely Quiet Park” – R Clarke, Aug 2015

Inverhuron Provincial Park is a lovely quiet park (notwithstanding the sound coming from the Bruce sometimes).  We have been visiting Inverhuron for a number of years now.  The sites are large and private with many pull-throughs for the larger trailers.  We travel with a 24ft trailer and always have lots of room.  Be prepared though, most sites require at least 20 metres of electrical cord.

Fall is a particularly great time to visit Inverhuron with lots of sites to choose from and lots of colours.  We always have camped in Gunn Point campground, but are looking forward to camping in the newly opened area, Holmes Bay in October. Check out the new group camping sites, they are magnificent right on the water!  You have to call the office to reserve these sites as they are not listed online.

There is a nice beach on one side and a rocky beach for the dogs on the other.  Don’t miss the sunsets on this beach (in Gunn Point campground).  You will find lots of people there at sunset with their cameras all ready to take some really spectacular shots. The pretty town of Kincardine is only a 10 minute drive from the park to the south and to the north is Port Elgin and Southampton, both cute towns worth the half hour or so drive.

I absolutely loved Inverhuron Provincial Park! We have a 35 foot travel trailer and it can be difficult to find a campground that has sites that accommodate large trailers. We stayed in Inverhuron’s brand new campground called Holmes Bay (Holmes bay is the newest addition to the park; I believe it opened this year) where the sites were big, private and trees were trimmed high to accommodate tall trailers”
