What are the best campground for drive in camping, with lots of day hike trails? I know algonquin has several, but we are looking for somewhere new 🙂
Any level of hikes are welcome, but preferably something with a scenic view.
George Lake Campground, Killarney – There are some good hiking trails. The most popular one is The Crack.
Cyprus Lake Campground, Bruce Peninsula – has good hiking trails as well. The most popular one is the hike to The Grotto.

If you are looking for lots of day trail hikes I would camp at one of the car campgrounds in Algonquin Park along highway 60. There are quite a few to choose from, Mew Lake, Lake of Two Rivers, Pog Lake, Rock Lake are a few of them. When you purchase your overnight camping permit, it covers you for parking at any of the day use trails in the park as well and there are quite a few of them to choose from with many levels of difficulty/ease and lengths. You can spend a day on the trail or just an hour depending on what you are looking for. Have a great time where ever you end up! Cheers!Â
